Cautions after surgery

The patient who undergoes an operation thinks naturally about returning to the usual routine as soon as possible. ["From when can go to work" ]? [ "From when can sport be carried out" ]? are typical questions.

Unfortunately, simple answers may be difficult. Although with repair of a car are can answer clearly, "It will be done in one day".  An operation is a different matters and there is considerable variation depending on the size of the crack and patient characteristics like age.  Normally healing is almost complete in one week and removal of sutures can be performed after two weeks.  However, since the anus is used every day for defecation, care must be taken. A heavy work load should be avoided and common sense measures taken. If it seems that pain is returning, cut down on activity since rest is very important for the repair process. Remember that you will need your anus for a long time.
